CETAG Likely To Go On Strike Action after 31st May 2024
The Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) is urging employers to comply with compulsory arbitration awards issued by the National Labour Commission (NLC).
This call comes amidst growing concerns over the lack of compliance with arbitration decisions, leading to prolonged disputes and unrest in the education sector.
CETAG, which represents teachers in colleges of education, advocates for the rights and welfare of its members. The association recognizes the importance of arbitration in resolving disputes fairly and impartially. However, the effectiveness of arbitration is undermined when employers fail to implement the decisions.

The government must also take proactive measures to ensure compliance with labour laws and regulations, including strengthening enforcement mechanisms and raising awareness about respecting arbitration decisions.
Promoting a culture of respect for labour laws and regulations is essential for a conducive working environment. CETAG’s call for implementation of arbitration awards is crucial for resolving labour disputes and promoting harmony in the education sector.
