The National Teaching Council is mandated by Education Regulators’ Body Act 2020 (ACT 1023) to improve the professional standing and status of teachers and to ensure licensing and registration of teachers in Ghana.

Date for 2024 Ghana Teachers Licensure Examination
As part of the processes leading to the implementation of the reforms, the council has developed content areas and a table of specifications for 65 subjects. The reformed GTLE is scheduled to commence in April 2024 by candidates trained under the National Teacher Education Curriculum Framework.
The papers would be written as follows;
- General Professional Knowledge – 22nd April 2024
- Related Pedagogy – 23rd April 2024
- Subject Based Paper – 24th April 2024
Eligibility for the 2024 Licensure Examination
Below is the eligibility to write the NTC
- Diploma in Basic Education Qualification (DBE)
- Bachelor of Education Qualification(B.Ed)
- Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) and finally
- Candidates who wrote the exams but were not successful
How to Register for the 2024 GTLE Examination
- Take Pin and Serial Number from the Bank after payment or SMS
- Log onto exams.ntc.gov.gh
- Enter your e-voucher Serial no. and Pin
- Fill in all the fields and remember to upload your passport-size photograph
- NOTE: NTC will not accept any request for a change of photograph after the examination
- Review information provided and submit
- Print Summary of the inputs made
Mode of Payment of NTC Examination Fee
The fees can be paid at any branch of the following banks
- Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB)
- Prudential Banks Ltd
How to Purchase Licensure Examination Registration Voucher Using Mobile Money
Payments can be also be done through Mobile Money. Candidates who wish to pay through Mobile Money should dial the short code *772*51# and follow the procedure to make payment.
