GES provides a transfer and release window for teachers who have served the specified number of years to apply for reposting or transfer in a district/municipal/metro of their choice. Find here documents required for 2023 GES transfer/reposting.
However, all GES employees who wish to be transferred from their current school to another school within the same district must submit the required documents to apply for the transfer from 2023/2024 academic year.

- Covering letter to the Regional Director for final approval.

Issuance of Assurance letters
According to the Ghana Education Service, the Issuance of Assurance letters would begin from 17th May and ends on 19th June 2023.
The processing of applications to the Headquarters will likewise start on July 5, 2023, and become effective on September 1, 2023, the start of the next academic year.
The GES has instructed the directors of the various education directorates to produce a list of every employee in their region who has received assurance and to send it to the GES headquarters.
Applications must be submitted in their whole to the GES Headquarters no later than July 31, 2023. Documents received after this date won’t be accepted, kindly note.
Please be aware that a staff member who has applied for reposting cannot be discharged until the Director-General has approved the request and sent the applicant a letter of reposting.
Steps for GES Intra/Inter District Reposting/Transfer for 2023
An Applicant seeks for an Assurance from their Region of choice through their District/Municipal/Metro Directors of Education.
After securing assurance letter, apply for release from your current district/municipal/metro by attaching all the documents above.
District/Municipal/Metro director will recommends your release to the Regional Director.
District/Municipal/Metro director forwards your documents to Regional Education Office to give final approval.
