How to Calculate GPA for Colleges of Education
Assuming you have taken six courses for the first semester, do the calculation below. Each course has a credit point (CP) of three (3). Marks that you will obtain also have their Grade Points (GP). The marks you obtain will tell your grade point. The grade point and credit points would be used to do the calculation.

GPA Calculation Table Explained
- First, you need to note down the marks you obtained in all the courses
- Find their grades, grade values, and credit points (credit hours)
- Make a table like the one above
- Multiply each grade by the number of its credit points (credit hours)
- Make a total of your grade points and total credit points (credit hours)
- Sum up the products of credit points and grade points
- Divide the sum of the grade points and credit points by the total credit hours
- The value you obtain becomes your GPA for that particular semester
