UMaT Undergraduate Admission Forms for 2024/2025

It is announced for the information of prospective applicants that application vouchers for admission to undergraduate programmes in the University of Mines and Technology, Tarkwa, for the 2024/2025 academic year are on sale.

The application vouchers for admission (Ghanaians only) can be purchased at the following places:

  1. Post Offices
  2. Ecobank
  3. Cal Bank
  4. GCB Bank
  5. Zenith Bank
  6. Fidelity Bank
  7. Access Bank

How to Apply for UMaT Admission

Ghanaian Applicants
  • Upon purchase of a voucher, the Bank or the Post Offices will issue a payment receipt containing a unique serial number with a corresponding PIN.
  • The serial number and the PIN will be used by the applicant as the login details to access the UMaT Online Admission System at www.portal.umat.edu.gh/apply to complete their application.
International Applicants

International applicant applying for admission should click on this this link to request for the log in details to apply.

Supporting Documents for Admission

The following documents are to be uploaded during the application process:

  1. Birth Certificate
  2. Second-cycle education certificate or result slip (e.g WASSCE/SSCE)
  3. Academic Transcript (applicable to Top-up applicants only)
  4. Tertiary certificate (applicable to top-up applicants only)
  5. Introductory letter on work experience (applicable to mature applicants only)

Key information for International Applicants

Take note of the following:

  1. Kindly note that the cost of application is US$ 100 and it will be added to your first-year fees when you are admitted.
  2. In completing the online form, candidates will be required to upload their recent passport size photographs and certificates.
  3. A completed online form is not considered until it is finally SUBMITTED.
  4. Applicants are advised to check thoroughly all details entered before they finally submit their online applications.

Print out application summary; attach results slips, certificates and all other relevant documents. Applicants must scan all the documents – signed copy of the application form, results slip, certificates, any valid national ID card and all supporting documents send to the following email address: admissions@umat.edu.gh
Note: 
In the subject line of the Email, write only Application for Admission and the applicant’s full name in brackets. eg. Application for Admission (Zainab Issaka)

Programme Selection

  1. Direct Applicants (regular applicants for BSc) are required to select four (4) distinct programmes.
  2. Direct Applicants (regular applicants for Diploma) are required to select only one (1) Programme.
  3. BSc Top-up Applicants are required to select two (2) distinct programmes.
  4. Certificate and other applicants are required to select only one (1) Programme.

Note: Choice of Programme must be carefully done in the order of preference. The same Programme cannot be chosen twice.

Picture Specification

Applicants are to upload a recent passport photo. The specifications for the passport photo are as follows:

  1. It must have a clear white background
  2. It must be a JPEG file format
  3. Its dimensions must be 3.5cm x 4.5cm
  4. The scanned soft copy must not be more than 65kb
  5. The photo must show the broad face and two ears

Application Deadline

All applications for admissions must be submitted on or before the deadline which is 6th December 2024.
